These Company Policies govern the use of Kourier Express shipping services. By submitting a shipment, making a payment, or collecting a package, customers agree to be bound by these policies. Kourier Express reserves the right to update these policies at any time.

1. General Service Policy

  • Kourier Express provides freight forwarding and courier services for shipments from the USA and China to Jamaica.
  • All customers must register with Kourier Express and receive a mailbox number before shipments can be processed.
  • Customers must provide accurate and complete information for every shipment including full name, contact number, item description, declared value, and weight or volume.
  • Kourier Express reserves the right to refuse any shipment at its sole discretion.
  • Kourier Express operates as a freight forwarder only and is not the seller, manufacturer, or importer of record.

2. Shipping & Pricing Policy

  • USA Air Freight: J$850 for the first pound and J$650 for each additional pound.
  • USA Sea Freight: US$12 per cubic foot with a minimum billable volume of 3 cubic feet.
  • China Air Freight: US$18 per pound with a minimum of 10 pounds. Includes Jamaican customs and duties.
  • China Sea Freight: US$30 per cubic foot with a minimum of 7 cubic feet / 0.2 CBM. Includes Jamaican customs and duties.
  • All billable weights and volumes are rounded up to the next full pound or cubic foot before minimum charges are applied.
  • Shipments may be charged by weight, volume, or declared item value at the discretion of Kourier Express.
  • Rates are subject to change without prior notice. Rate changes do not affect shipments already in transit.
  • All shipping fees must be paid in full before packages are released.

3. Customs & Government Duties Policy

Important: Packages with a declared value over US$100 are subject to Jamaica Customs duty on USA routes. Customs duty is not included in USA shipping rates. All China shipments include customs and duties in the quoted rate.
  • Jamaica Customs applies duty based on the CARICOM Common External Tariff.
  • Shipments may be subject to GCT, Stamp Duty, and Environmental Levy as required by law.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring imported items comply with Jamaican Customs regulations and import laws.
  • Items seized or confiscated by Jamaica Customs due to prohibited content, misdeclaration, or non-compliance will not be refunded.
  • Customers found misdeclaring shipments may be terminated from Kourier Express services.

4. Package Collection & Storage Policy

All packages must be collected within 7 calendar days of the arrival notification.

  • Customers will be notified by phone call or WhatsApp when packages are ready for collection.
  • All outstanding storage fees must be paid before a package is released.
  • A valid government-issued photo ID must be presented at collection.
  • A customer may authorize a representative to collect their package in writing in advance.

5. Prohibited Items Policy

The following items are strictly prohibited: firearms, ammunition, weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, narcotics, controlled substances, hazardous materials, flammable liquids, explosive chemicals, counterfeit goods, live animals, perishable food unless pre-approved, currency, negotiable instruments, precious metals without proper documentation, human remains or body parts, and items prohibited under the laws of Jamaica, the USA, or China.

Kourier Express accepts no liability for prohibited items submitted for shipping. Legal consequences, fines, seizures, and penalties are the responsibility of the customer.

6. Damage, Loss & Liability Policy

  • Kourier Express takes reasonable precautions to ensure safe package handling.
  • Kourier Express is not liable for damage caused by inadequate packaging by the original seller or shipper.
  • Claims for damaged or lost packages must be reported in writing within 48 hours of collection or arrival notification.
  • Liability is limited to the declared value of the item stated at shipment submission.
  • Kourier Express is not liable for delays caused by Customs, airline disruptions, weather, or circumstances beyond its control.

7. Refund Policy

Important: Shipping fees are non-refundable once a package has been dispatched from the origin warehouse. No refunds will be issued for abandoned, auctioned, or disposed packages.
  • Refunds will only be considered where Kourier Express is directly and solely responsible for a proven loss or error.
  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@kourierexpress.com within 7 calendar days of the incident.
  • Customs duties, government taxes, storage fees, and warehouse fees are non-refundable.
  • Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days using the original payment method.

8. Customer Conduct Policy

Customers are expected to treat staff with respect, provide accurate information, keep contact information current, collect packages within the grace period, present valid ID at collection, and comply with Jamaican Customs laws.

Kourier Express reserves the right to terminate service to any customer who is abusive, dishonest, or in violation of the policies, without refund.

9. Privacy Policy

  • Kourier Express collects customer information solely to process shipments and provide customer service.
  • Customer information will not be sold, rented, or shared except where required by law or to complete a shipment.
  • Customers may request access to or deletion of personal data by contacting info@kourierexpress.com.
  • Kourier Express takes reasonable steps to protect customer data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

10. Amendments & Governing Law

  • Kourier Express may amend these policies at any time without prior notice.
  • Updated policies will be posted at the office in Lilliput, St. James and on Instagram @kourierexpressja.
  • Continued use of services after amendment constitutes acceptance of revised policies.
  • These policies are governed by the laws of Jamaica and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Jamaican courts.
